Dear Coach Jaggers,

Yesterday I was randomly asked to come interview with a company I've been wanting to work for. To make a long story short, they hired me and I'm going to start working most days after school now.

Just so you know, the main reason for starting to work now is that I am trying to raise money to make a service trip this summer to work with orphans in Honduras. If that weren't so important to me, I would probably only be working minimal hours so I could still play tennis. However, it's going to take all of the free time I have and so I will not be playing for the tennis team any more.

This makes me really sad, especially since you have been so generous in the past to let me work one day a week. But on that note, I realize that tennis is and should be a first priority after school if one wants to be on the team, and so I want to be fair and just let you know now that I will have to quit.

Once again, I am very sorry for the late notice and any inconvenience it will cause you with rescheduling and making substitutions. Thank you for the opportunity to play and be apart of the team, I know you guys will do great things this year! Hopefully I will be able to make it back next year to play, given that the schoolwork load and work pressures are a lot less than right now in my life.
