summer re-wind

When Paul Becker and my father picked us up from EFY this past June, my lovely as-southern-as-they-come uncle expressed much interest in stopping to see the "Stonewall" Jackson graveyard, a much longed for aspiration I sensed. Very well then we concurred, and were able to taste a little bit of Confederate pride with Becker as our guide.

I just love this one. It totally expresses how ecstatic he was: (and how his daughters attempted to share his enthusiasm for it)

I do love history though, so it was not a painful trip for me. We also got to see Washington-Lee University campus and Lee Chapel, which was very neat. We sat in the historic pews and listened to everything that had taken place there, along with everyone that had been where we were. Pretty cool stuff indeed.

And then there was this guy:

He turned 15 this summer, and had all of the cousins here to celebrate with him. (I've always been jealous of his summer birthday..) However, I was not in attendance this year for the celebration due to...

Girls' Camp!!

I was so lucky to have Erin with me this year! And then of course there's this girl:

We may/may not have performed very comical prankings upon our YCL leaders.. ??? Rumors, rumors.. Anyhow, we did get the award we were hoping for though..and a nice water balloon smashed on each of us in front of everyone:) It's good to be a YCL. That is all.
