That's me.
Due to homework, lack of sleep, soccer practice, soccer games, mutual, (and even simple things like eating these days), I never really got to post about the first week at Hardin Valley Academy.
I realize that for most there is this grand story of how they got lost their first day of high school, walked into the wrong class, or were just plain nervous. However, that wasn't really the case this time. Now don't get me wrong, I was worried about how I would juggle everything and if I would have any friends in my classes, but as far as those nice little butterflies in your stomach go, it just wasn't hittin me this year. We had a freshman orientation day the Friday before, where they explained to us how the school was laid out, gave us our schedules, and let us find our classes without 1400 other students crowding the hallways. I felt like I was already there. Plus, when I considered all of the way more nerve racking things I had done over the summer (such as soccer tryouts, swim meets, overnight soccer camp, etc.), school was just... well.. school.
The first day only lasted until noon, which is basically enough time for your teachers to give out a syllabus, tell you it's going to be a great semester, and send you on your way. Nothing special. Although, the second day was a different story. Running around in the morning trying not to forget everything, trying to cool off after first period P.E:/, forgetting a lock to keep my soccer bag secure in the locker room, having to lug my back pack around all day because we hadn't been assigned lockers, and hurrying to catch a ride over to the practice field after school on an empty stomach didn't exactly make the first full day the best.
But it's gettin better. I'm adjusting. I'm catching up on sleep. I'm starting to love only having four classes a day- (only two of which are academic.) I'm liking my teachers and I have friends. I'm happy.
